The Gophers offense didn’t reveal much during a few open practices in training camp, but if you were able to look close enough in those brief August moments, P.J. Fleck shared something special to him. When the head coach wore shorts, his usual summer practice attire, it exposed a new tattoo on one of his tanned, athletically toned calves. Vertical ink running downward to his Achilles tendon now reads: “This too shall pass.”The famous phrase has been attributed to the Bible, and while faith is intertwined in its meaning, those words are not written there in that way. One popular claim is to an ancient Jewish folktale, and President Abraham Lincoln was a fan of the saying, via that origin story.“It is said an Eastern monarch (King Solomon) once charged his wise men to invent him a sentence, to be ever in view, and which should be true and appropriate in all times and situations,” Lincoln said in closing a speech in Wisconsin in 1859. “They presented him the words: ‘And this, too, shal...Books available for $1 at the Colonie Fall Book Sale

MARYLAND HEIGHTS, Mo. - The St. Louis Blues crown Brayden Schenn as the 24th captain in franchise history. Schenn becomes the first Blues captain since the team moved their previous one, Ryan O'Reilly, at last year's trade deadline. Although the NHL does not require every team to have a captain, they are oftentimes tasked with pivotal leadership roles. That includes building camaraderie as locker room leader, serving as a franchise face, and consulting with coaches and referees as a key voice. 200 WINS! Boebert’s antics are unacceptableRe: “Boebert escorted out of musical,” Sept. 13 news storyI read with great dismay about Lauren Boebert’s behavior at the Denver Center for the Performing Arts the other night. I’m not sure how many “ordinary” citizens are escorted out of the theater due to bad behavior. However, when one is elected to represent a portion of a state’s population, you might expect that, that representative would be able to handle herself in public in a manner that did not detract from the event that her fellow attendees paid for, let alone draw attention to her self such that she is asked to leave. How sad is it that a large portion of the State of Colorado is represented by someone who has so little respect for others that she carried on in a public setting where decorum is enforced to assure the attendees benefit from the experience?Unfortunately, this is just another example of her public behavior. Most of the time she is in the news, it is because...Uzbekistan promises its citizens the benefits of economic growth
